The system is very rigid in that it does not offer a lot of options for customizing or the ability to develop workflows specific to a practice, but it has all of the basics as well as some features that other vendors charge extra for (lab integrations, patient portal, etc.). Very soon after, the business model shifted from selling aggregated data and in-product advertising to a subscription model, but still remains very inexpensive.

It was an ambitious but limited piece of software that was eventually sold to Allscripts. Overall: I initially implemented the product when it was a standalone product offered for free. This is a big issue when you have to change software. My biggest complaint is that client data cannot be exported via CSV or Excel format. Sometimes all we have to go by during that time is a name and contact number. Most solo MH providers are wearing all of the "hats" in the practice and are trying to schedule new clients during the one or two minutes they have between sessions.

Also, there was no quick way to add a client unless I had all of the pertinent client data on hand. No matter how many times I would type in certain clients' names, the search box would not recognize or find the client. Another feature that did not work well was the client search feature. It was impossible to review my schedule on my mobile phone because the calendar was not optimized for mobile. The most frustrating thing was attempting to work with the calendar. There were a lot of annoying pop-ups that I had to deal with that did not apply to mental health providers. There is no way to customize the interface for the specific needs of my occupation. And I think you'll find that this is actually a very user-friendly EMR to utilize and to bring into your office and business.Ĭons: This software is not built with mental health in mind. But really, just go on to their website and look into it. They have a trial version that you can utilize. So, I can, I guess, be doing this on the go or in my office, and very simple to get started and access just those key things that I really need to access, without going through a lot of different pages.Ĭertainly if you're looking for either a new form of electronic chart for your practice or wanting to try something different than what you've been using, I would recommend giving Practice Fusion a look at.

Just open up the website, log in, download the app, and log in if you're using the mobile version, and just click on the key components that you need to do. To get started with Practice Fusion, super simple. So I didn't have to jump through a lot of hoops to get to those key things that I really, really needed to access. Access my client's chart, access their prescriptions, those things that I needed are right there at my fingertips. The EMR was simple for me to utilize, and I could really access all of the key components that I need and not have to go through a bunch of steps to get to those components. I could really get the key points down to what I actually needed to provide the best patient care. Yeah, I chose Practice Fusion because of the applicability that it gave me. Or if you need to be on the go, you can simply do that using their app.

It can be used on pretty much any application - your phone, laptop, desktop - so it's easy to provide patient care, do documentation, sending prescriptions, all while in your office. Practice Fusion is great, because I have a small practice, and Practice Fusion is great for either a small practice or a larger practice. And I had used ChARM previously, and while it was good, it still didn't fit my needs exactly. I chose Practice Fusion after trying a few other EMRs.
